Application for Active Membership

I) Organization

The Texas Creditors Bar Association (“TXCBA”), a Texas non-profit association, is an association of attorneys  who are engaged in the active practice of representing creditors in legal matters related to collection law.  To be eligible to be a member of the TXCBA (“Eligibility Requirements), an attorney must:

A. Be admitted to the State Bar of Texas and be in good standing;
B. Have a practice focused on the representation of creditors (collections and/or creditor defense);
C. Spend at least twenty-five percent of their professional time in the representation of creditors; and
D. Spend less than five percent of their time in the representation of debtors in debt collection matters.

II) Application

The applicant hereby certifies that they meet the Eligibility Requirements of the TXCBA and applies to be an ACTIVE MEMBER in the Texas Creditors Bar Association. 

III) Conditions of Active Membership

All active member applicants agree that during their period of membership,

A. to be bound by the Bylaws of the TXCBA,
B. to abide by all written policies of the TXCBA, and
C. to hold TXCBA harmless and defend it against any claim arising out of the attorney’s acts or failure to act, or for any other reason that is founded upon the attorney’s membership in TXCBA, to include payment of any expenses, costs and attorneys fees in connection with the defense thereof and the attorney will indemnify TXCBA for same.
